Americans for the Arts has been pursuing more federal legislative priorities this year than ever before. To help track the various federal legislative priorities we have released a one-page update and advocacy tool. We have seen great success so far in increasing the FY 2020 funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, but our work advocating for pro-arts policies doesn’t stop there. We are working to ensure that federal lawmakers understand the many policy areas the arts impact in communities across the nation. This diverse policy agenda is made possible by an active Congressional Arts Caucus and Senate Cultural Caucus, a growing coalition of pro-arts organizations, and motivated grassroots advocates in every state.

From tax policy to transit, healthcare to education, we’re working to ensure expanded arts access and opportunity throughout the country. In order to succinctly describe this expanded suite of legislative priorities, we’ve created a tool for advocates of all levels. Using this tool, you can learn about the issue and quickly take action on any of the pro-arts issues that matter to you and your community. The 2019 Congressional Arts Handbook is also a great place to get a deeper overview of many of our current legislative priorities.

This update is free to download and can easily be shared with friends and colleagues. Contact Lauren Cohen, Federal Affairs and Grassroots Senior Coordinator, with any questions.
