A statement from Americans for the Arts’ President and CEO Nolen V. Bivens following the White House Executive Order reestablishing the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH):

“Americans for the Arts is excited and grateful that President Joseph Biden has issued an Executive Order to reestablish the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH). We applaud the expansion of including museums and libraries now to promote greater collaboration among the three federal cultural agencies: the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

“Arts and culture and creative expression have the power to change and inspire minds and impact communities. Through our commitment to equitable advocacy and collective leadership with diverse partners, we are confident that the reinstatement of the PCAH will further promote the power of the arts as a resource in helping the nation and communities solve the economic, educational, cultural, and social challenges we all face.

“I thank the President, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Members of Congress, and arts advocates across the country who championed the idea for the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities' powerful reinstatement.”
