Working through a National Steering Committee comprised of federal, military, nonprofit and private sector partners, Americans for the Arts launched the National Initiative for Arts and Health in the Military (NIAHM) in 2012. In October of 2013, NIAHM released the White Paper and Blueprint for action, which offers research and recommendations for using the arts to address some of the military’s most pressing concerns.

Americans for the Arts, in partnership with The Conference Board, conducted this survey which examines business support and employee engagement for the arts. The survey draws on responses from companies of all sizes that participate in corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, volunteer programs, or sponsorships.
Every day, more than 100,000 nonprofit arts and culture organizations act as economic drivers—creating an industry that supports jobs, generates government revenue, and is the cornerstone of our tourism industry. This study documents the key role played by the nonprofit arts and culture industry, and their audiences, in strengthening our nation’s economy.

This tool-kit, by the pARTnership Movement, is a companion piece designed to assist arts groups in distilling the information in the Corporate Social Responsibility & the Arts report, and help them replicate successful partnership examples in their own communities. We hope it will inspire you to foster mutually beneficial arts and business pARTnerships in your own community!

Reports offer data from Dun & Bradstreet providing the first national study of both the nonprofit and for-profit arts industries.
We conduct our national Arts & Economic Prosperity® studies every five years (the next will be published in 2022). In between the national studies, we offer customized individual studies as a service. Let our economic impact study service make the case for your community, arts district, organization, facility, or event. The findings from these studies have helped arts organizations across the country get the funding they need to continue advancing the arts in their communities.

It's great to know about the number of businesses involved in the creation or distribution of the arts nationally, but even better to know about the creative industries at play in your area.

Have research and data needs, but no time, manpower, or tools to fulfill them? Americans for the Arts offers complete web-based survey services from questionnaire design and implementation to data analysis and reporting.
