Ms. Wendy Givoglu
Wendy Givoglu is the Interim President for the East and Winter Park Campuses of Valencia College after serving as the Dean of the School of Arts and Entertainment at Valencia for the past 11 years. Prior to becoming an arts administrator, Dr. Givoglu taught Humanities and Art History at Valencia and Tallahassee Community College. She holds a Ph.D. in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida and a BA and MA in Humanities from Florida State University. Givoglu’s research examines intersections between social media participation and arts engagement among millennials, particularly within Central Florida. Dr. Givoglu is an Arts enthusiast and advocate for collegiate and community arts programs. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Garden Theatre and United Arts of Central Florida and has served on numerous arts educational advisory boards. In addition, Dr. Givoglu has been the recipient of numerous awards, including two awards from the League for Innovation in Community Colleges, three National Endowment for the Humanities grants for summer study, a grant for summer study at Cambridge University from the English-Speaking Union Winter Park Branch, and the University Club of Orlando Endowed Chair in Humanities.
