A full service advertising agency, we are the marketing arm of the St. Johns Cultural Council (http://www.stjohnsculture.com). St. Johns County, known as “Florida’s Historic Coast,” was settled by the Spanish more than 450 years ago. Yet the area’s wealth of activities wasn’t seen as a unique cultural destination. The St. Johns Cultural Council asked us to help tell their story of heritage, arts and culture. We created a cultural destination brand for the region, www.HistoricCoastCulture.com. Annually, we develop their Marketing Plan and manage paid advertising, creative, social media, public relations and digital targeting efforts to attract cultural travelers. Over five years, we’ve grown the destination to a place where visitors truly experience “Culture Around Every Corner”.
Carole Vanderhoef Banks is an integral part of the team at Shepherd. She has an extensive background in branding, marketing, research and direct response. She has expertise in account management, brand development, group facilitation, marketing/communications planning and implementation, direct response and database management. Working in the non-profit sector for nine years, she was the marketing director for the Syracuse, Indianapolis and Jacksonville symphony orchestras. She then honed her direct marketing and database skills for seven years as a project manager with a national direct marketer.
Carole did graduate studies at the School of Management at Syracuse University, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wells College, as well as a Master’s degree in music education from Ithaca College. She remains an avid singer today.
A member of Shepherd since 1995, Carole's industry experience includes non-profits, business services, utilities, landscape architecture, healthcare, digital services, financial services, banking, real estate, golf, senior living, pharmaceuticals, entertainment, arts & culture, aviation, retail grocery and retail eyewear. She specializes in brand strategy, branding, direct marketing, marketing planning and research and is a experienced workshop moderator and facilitator.
