Jennie Smith-Peers
Jennie Smith-Peers is currently the Executive Director of Elders Share the Arts, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to using art to empowering older adults to transform their lives through personal narrative.
After earning a BFA in Acting at Emerson College, and graduating from the NYU’s Drama Therapy Program, where she focused on the intersection of reminiscence, medicine, and the effects on geriatric mental health, Jennie has served as an intergenerational program coordinator and has developed programs for homebound older adults within New York City so that they could remain independent within their homes.
As the Executive Director of ESTA, she is committed to building capacity through collaborations, grass-roots organizing, and is fascinated by how different generations can use new media to relate to each other. With all of that being said, she is passionate about exploring personal narratives older adults, and expanding the notions of what it means to grow older within our world.
