Ms. Nancy Hytone Leb
Nancy Hytone Leb discovered the field of arts administration in 1998 and gleefully left the ad agency world behind. She started Hytone Arts Management in 2004 and now works with a diverse array of arts organizations throughout California and the U.S. In addition to providing marketing, development and management guidance to small and mid-size arts organizations, Nancy creates and presents workshops on both marketing and business concerns for a variety of organizations including the Center for Cultural Innovation, LA County Arts Commission, and Americans for the Arts / National Arts Marketing Project. She also mentors dance organizations through Pentacle / Help Desk LA and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pasadena Arts Council. Nancy was the Director of Training for the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) from 2006 - mid-2013 and served as editor / content developer for the 2nd edition of CCI's groundbreaking publication, "Business of Art: An Artist's Guide to Profitable Self-Employment", which was published in January 2012. She authored the book's marketing chapters in both the original edition (published in 2008) and the new edition. She started her nonprofit career as a consultant for the San Francisco Business Volunteers for the Arts program. From 1998 - 2004, Nancy was the Director of Marketing and Development for Playhouse West in Walnut Creek, CA. In her ad agency days, Nancy held senior account management positions at three of California's largest advertising agencies working on national brands such as Toyota, Saturn, Honda, Leap Frog Toys, Disney Channel, and California Pizza Kitchen.
