Ms. Diana E. Wyenn
Acclaimed director and marketing expert Diana Wyenn blends business savvy with creative artistry to rapidly achieve noteworthy results. Previously, the head of marketing for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and both communications and marketing for the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT), she has developed and implemented successful messaging and branding campaigns online and off, connecting these internationally-recognized arts and cultural institutions with key demographics and targeted audiences for significant value-added.
Seamlessly combining elements from the business and art worlds to create high-impact, innovative approaches, her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Daily Beast, Fast Company and more, plus praised by Los Angeles’ mayor. Diana’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious; her successes are amplified by a compassion for others and bravery in new ventures. While the head of the marketing department at LACMA, she made fundamental strategic shifts and significant reallocations in order to utilize marketing dollars and time more effectively—in certain instances overhauling the organization’s marketing strategy, budget and staffing structure. These changes include a 70K reallocation of funds from print to digital and social and the restructuring of duties for LACMA’s marketing department staff. LACMA continues to experience exponential growth in digital engagement, revenue, media coverage, and museum participation following Diana’s achievements.
Diana champions the arts as an integral part of American society through her work on the board of directors for the Los Angeles Downtown Arts District Space, the Directors Lab West steering committee, and as co-founder of Circle Readings. She has received an Inquiry Fellowship from the American Jewish University's Institute for Jewish Creativity; served on a National Endowment for the Arts Theater and Musical Theater Grant Panel; and in 2012 transformed the two-day 405 freeway closure—also known as Carmageddon II—into ARTmageddon, a city-wide celebration of the arts which encouraged thousands of L.A. residents to walk, bike and take public transit to art in their neighborhoods through expansive partnerships with Metro, the Mayor's Office, the Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles, and hundreds of LA-based artists and arts organizations.
As an artist, Diana challenges and inspires audiences to see beyond the usual. Her work as director and choreographer has been presented around the country at cutting edge venues, including REDCAT in Los Angeles and SummerStage in New York City’s Central Park. Wyenn has collaborated on large spectaculars and intimate performances, including work for Disney, Radarworks, Center Theatre Group, Unknown Theater, and electronic music artist RYAT. She has directed numerous solo performances, which continue to tour nationally receiving awards and critical praise.
Diana also works with New York-based CEO Perspective Group advising executives, young achievers, entrepreneurs and emerging nonprofit leaders on leadership presence and presentation.
Diana received a BFA in Drama with Honors from New York University and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. A frequent and happy traveller, she also loves ice hockey, vegan cooking and adventure.
