Linh Dang is the Associate Executive Director of Patient Experience at the New York City Health + Hospitals/Kings County branch in Brooklyn, New York. She previously managed the Arts in Medicine program at Stanford Health Care (Palo Alto, CA), ameliorating the patient experience with art for health and various art forms during hospitalization for 12 years. Linh came to the U.S. as a refugee from the Vietnam War as a young child. She learned to use the power and beauty of the arts to overcome adversity. She is the founder of FreedomCollage139, a group which teaches impoverished and disadvantaged women in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco how to reimagine new identities and opportunities as artists. Linh keeps herself busy creating and teaching art journaling to cancer survivors. She is currently working on her book How to Hear God’s Voice through Art Journaling. Linh has a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising with a minor in Studio Art from San Jose State University. She completed the Master Certificate Program for Arts in Medicine. Besides her love for book art, Linh enjoys rock climbing, yoga, and hiking.
