The co-chairs of Americans for the Arts' (AFTA) CEO Search Committee, Kristina Newman-Scott and Theo Edmonds, are delighted to announce that agreements have been finalized with two esteemed national arts administrators who will serve as co-interim leaders during our leadership transition, which is expected to conclude by the end of 2024. These interim leaders will begin their roles in early June 2024, focusing on sustaining operational momentum and maintaining strategic continuity by building on the significant contributions of the Strategic Realignment Process (SRP). We look forward to introducing them within the next few weeks.

After extensive evaluations, recommendations, and a thorough request for proposal (RFP) process, the AFTA search and selection committee is pleased to appoint  Koya Partners, as our national executive search firm. Known for their commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Koya Partners has already commenced their work with the search committee and AFTA board.

To ensure complete transparency throughout the search process, the AFTA search and selection committee is developing a comprehensive charter. This charter will include detailed information about the search process, the interim leaders, the executive search firm, committee members, and the expected progress. It will also offer regular updates and opportunities for feedback.

The charter will be publicly accessible on the AFTA website by early June.
